Aim
To enable participants to improve their skills and knowledge in working more effectively with children and young people who are at risk of running away.
Objectives
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
Gain a better understanding of the complex issues and experiences of young people who run away
Identify preventative methods of working and the purpose and value of these interventions
Gain additional knowledge, including local protocols and services, skills and confidence in dealing with situations involving young runaways.
Outcomes
Implement key areas of good practice in working with young runaways.
Staff are more confident in working with potential runaways and any actions to take to safeguard these young people.
