Aims and Objectives
This is an advanced training course which follows on from Basic Awareness and CAF/Threshold training. It is an Intermediate Level course which explores the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people and considers professional roles and responsibilities for recognising and responding to suspected or actual domestic abuse situations.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course participants will have:
An understanding of the immediate and longer term impact of domestic abuse on children, both from directly witnessing or indirectly experiencing it
Increased knowledge and skills in recognising and responding appropriately to child welfare concerns related to domestic abuse
Developed skills in multi-agency assessment and intervention in cases where domestic abuse is a feature
An awareness of locally available services and support for families affected by domestic abuse.

Practitioners and managers from statutory, voluntary or private sector agencies who deliver services to children and/or their parents/caregivers.
