About Doncaster's Child Death Overview Panel
On 1st April 2008, the Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) was established in Doncaster in line with government guidance outlined in ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ (HM Government 2010). This stipulates that all child deaths (excluding stillbirths) up to the age of 18 should be reviewed.
It places the expectation on Local Safeguarding Children boards to collect and analyse information about each child death and put in place procedures for ensuring that there is a co-ordinated response to unexpected deaths.
